Content Packs

A content pack is a module that ships a Playlist compendium. Minstrel reads every Playlist compendium present in the world. There is nothing to enable or configure.

Pack albums in the library

Pack playlists appear as tiles in the same grid as your world playlists, listed after them and sorted by name. The Music tab shows pack albums on the music channel, and the Ambience tab shows those on the environment and interface channels. A pack tile carries a download badge and reads Content pack under its name. It uses the cover art and color the pack ships; with no art, the tile falls back to the first letter of the album name.

A tile drops off the grid once you import that album. Minstrel matches a world playlist to the compendium entry it was imported from.

The library grid is visible to the GM only.

Previewing and importing an album

Clicking a pack tile’s cover opens the album view and lists every track in it. Pack tracks are locked: each row shows a lock icon in place of the selection checkbox and carries no play button, and the album itself offers only the import button. A note on the page reads “These tracks live in a compendium. Import the playlist to play them or add them to a mood.”

Import to world copies the album into the Playlists sidebar. The view switches to the imported copy, which from then on behaves like any playlist you made yourself.

Pack pads on the soundboard

A pack can also ship soundboard pads. A track in a pack carrying a pad preset is offered on the soundboard on the Ambience tab, below your own pads, grouped under a heading per album. Each offered pad carries a download badge.

Clicking one imports it. Minstrel creates a world playlist tied to the source album if it has not already, copies that single track into the playlist, and builds the pad from the preset the pack ships. A pad you already have is not offered again; Minstrel matches on the audio file path.

Resync from pack

Right-click a world album tile and choose Resync from pack. Minstrel deletes the world playlist and imports a fresh copy from the compendium it came from, so any change you made to that playlist is discarded. If it was playing at the time, the fresh copy starts playing. The menu entry appears only on playlists that were imported from a compendium.

Artist credit

A pack can tag a track with an artist name and a source URL. The console transport and the mini player both show the artist beside the playlist name for the track currently playing. When a source URL is present, the artist name renders as a link that opens in a new tab. Neither value has a field in Minstrel’s interface; both come from the pack.
