Troubleshooting
Common problems and how to resolve them. For related behavior, see settings, tie detection, and GM tools.
Rolloffs aren’t triggering
Section titled “Rolloffs aren’t triggering”The module is installed but nothing happens after initiative is rolled.
- Confirm “Auto-trigger Rolloffs” is enabled in settings. With it disabled, the GM must approve ties from the notification dialog.
- Make sure every relevant combatant has rolled initiative. Rollies waits until all rolls are in before checking for ties.
- Verify that two or more combatants share the same initiative value. Non-ties are ignored.
- Check that combat has not yet been started. Rollies only triggers before the first round begins.
Players aren’t seeing roll dialogs
Section titled “Players aren’t seeing roll dialogs”Ties are detected, but one or more players never get the prompt.
- Confirm each player has OWNER permission on the tied actor. When no active non-GM owner is found, the GM auto-rolls for that combatant instead of prompting a player.
- Verify the player is connected to the world and their client is active. Disconnected users are auto-rolled when the timeout expires.
Ties keep happening
Section titled “Ties keep happening”The rolloff itself ends in another tie, sometimes repeatedly.
- This is expected. Rollies rolls again automatically until one side rolls higher.
- Switch to a larger die in settings to reduce repeat ties. A d100 rarely ties.
- Dexterity tiebreakers are not used. This is intentional.
Auto-roll isn’t working
Section titled “Auto-roll isn’t working”The timeout passes but inactive players are never rolled for them.
- Check the timeout value in settings.
- Confirm the player’s client had time to load the dialog before the timer expired. Slow connections may need a longer window.
- Increase the timeout if auto-rolls fire before players can react, or if manual dice integrations need extra time. The “Manual Dice Timeout Multiplier” setting extends the window when an interactive dice roller is detected.
