Default Detach

Stop hunting for character sheets behind the canvas. Tell Foundry which window types belong in their own desktop window. Set it once per user.

Foundry’s detach-to-window control pops an application out of the browser into its own native window. Default Detach skips the manual click. You check the document types or individual windows you want detached, and every later open lands in a popped-out window. You edit the list from the Configure dialog, covered in Usage.

Auto-detach preferences are per-user. The GM’s setup never overrides yours, and your picks never reach other players. You run dual monitors with floating sheets while the rest of the table keeps the default layout.

The Document Types tab lists document types you can check without opening anything first. Checking a type detaches every window of that type. The Individual Windows tab fills in with the windows you open during the session.

Default Detach hooks into Foundry’s ApplicationV2 framework rather than a single game system. Any application that renders in a framed window can be pinned, including sheets, compendiums, journal entries, and dialogs from other modules.

Requires Foundry V14 or later. Install through the module manager, or paste this manifest URL:
