Now Playing Bar

The Now Playing bar is a small player docked to the edge of the Foundry window. The GM and each player get their own.

For a playlist track, the bar shows the track name, its playlist, and the playlist’s cover. Tracks with artist credit also list the artist, linked to the source when there is one.

A progress bar and time readout follow the track. Click the readout to switch between elapsed time, elapsed and total time, percent played, and time remaining.

YouTube videos, Syrinscape moods, and Soundboard pads show a title with no progress bar. The bar shrinks to its cover and buttons shortly after the pointer leaves it, and expands again on hover.

When more than one thing is playing, the bar rotates through them every few seconds. Each playing playlist track counts as a source, and so does each YouTube video, Syrinscape mood, or Soundboard pad. While a mood is active, the bar shows the mood’s name in place of other sources and does not cycle.

For a playlist track, the GM gets Previous track, Pause, Stop all, and Next track buttons. Pause and Stop all act on the track on screen, and Stop all ends that track’s playlist. Videos, Syrinscape moods, and Soundboard pads get a single stop button. The GM can click or drag the progress bar to seek for everyone.

Players see the track, progress bar, and time readout, with no transport buttons or seeking. A player’s bar closes when nothing is playing. The GM’s bar stays open.

While something plays, everyone gets a Mute all audio button. Hovering it opens a Music volume slider, which sets Syrinscape volume instead while a Syrinscape mood is on screen. Both affect only that user.

The Minstrel button opens and closes the console.

Drag the bar by its grip handle. Drop it near a screen edge to dock it there, or farther out to leave it floating. Each client remembers its own position.

Hide closes the bar. Press Alt+N or click Toggle now playing bar on the console’s tab rail to bring it back. The key can be rebound in Configure Controls.

The Settings page controls whether the bar opens when a user joins and whether it returns when a new track starts.
