Update Notices
3DS:ATLAS watches every registered 3DS module and reports version changes to you. The check runs when the world becomes ready and only runs for the GM. Two behaviors handle two questions, and each has its own toggle in the module settings. The Changelogger shows you what changed after a module updates. Update Notices tells you when a newer version of a module is available to install.
Changelogger
Section titled “Changelogger”After a 3DS module updates, a popup window shows that module’s release notes. The window is titled “Changelogger” and lists one tab per module that changed since the last time the world loaded. Each tab renders the release notes bundled with that module. Only you see the window.
3DS:ATLAS records the installed version of each module in a store called seenVersions. When a module’s installed version differs from the recorded one, its release notes appear once, then the store updates so the same version does not show again. A module that has never been recorded does not trigger the popup on its first appearance.
Toggle this behavior with the “Changelogger” setting.
Update notices
Section titled “Update notices”When a newer version of a registered module is available, a chat message lists the modules you can update. The message is whispered to you and no other player sees it. Each entry links to the download page for that module.
3DS:ATLAS reads a central version map published on the 3 Death Saves site and compares each entry against the version you have installed. An entry counts as available only when the published version is newer than your installed version. A store called notifiedAvailable records which version you were told about for each module, so the same available version is not whispered twice.
Toggle this behavior with the “Update Notices” setting.
