Hit Points

The Hit Points tab is where a player sets hit points for each character level. It activates once a class is picked, and it appears in both character creation and level-up mode.

The Hit Points tab with its hit point method options

A row of controls sits above the level cards:

  • Method picks how hit points are generated for this tab. You decide which methods appear in this list.
  • Con modifier shows the character’s current Constitution modifier, which is added to every level’s roll.
  • Total is the running sum of hit points across every card.
  • One hit-die icon group per class shows the die size and how many levels of that class are on the roster.
  • Maximum takes the top value of the hit die at every level.
  • Average takes the fixed average of the hit die at each level past the first.
  • Manual rolls the hit die for each level past the first.

If only one method is enabled, it is selected automatically.

Each character level gets its own card, showing the class icon, class name, and a heart-shaped bar that fills to represent the hit die result. Under Manual, a card shows a roll button until it has a value, then a reroll button. Under Maximum or Average, the card shows its result directly with no button to press. A card’s footer reads out the die result, the Constitution modifier, and the total once a value exists.

The first level of a character’s primary class can be locked to the maximum die value regardless of method.

In level-up mode, cards for levels the character already has are locked and show the value already applied to the actor. Only the new level being taken is open for input.

Whether rerolls are allowed, and how many a player gets, are both GM settings. Once a card’s reroll cap is reached, it shows a lock icon and the roll button is disabled.
