The party panel and turns

The party panel is the control surface for budgeted movement. Open it from the Mindful Encounters button in the Token scene controls.

The header holds the scene toggle and the mode indicator.

  • The dungeon toggle turns budgeted movement on or off for the scene. Only the GM sees the toggle; players see the current state.
  • The Dungeon / Overland button switches the scene between per-token budgets and a single shared party budget. See Overland mode.
  • The mode indicator shows whether over-budget moves are vetoed or clamped. See Movement and enforcement.

Tokens on the scene are listed as cards, grouped into Players, NPCs, and Hidden. Players only see tokens they are allowed to see.

Each card shows:

  • An include dot. The GM toggles whether the token counts toward the turn.
  • The token portrait and name.
  • A budget readout. The GM sees the distance moved and an editable cap field. A blank cap field falls back to the automatic cap.
  • A progress bar that fills as the token moves and turns red when it goes over.
  • An action button that logs an action for the turn.
  • A Done toggle. An owner marks their own token Done or undoes it.

When no manual cap is set, the cap field shows the resolved value as placeholder text, or auto when the budget is unlimited.

A dungeon turn advances only when every included token is Done.

  • An owner marks a token Done from its card or from the Done with this turn button on the token HUD.
  • A Done token can be set back to moving at any time before the turn advances.
  • When the last included token is marked Done, the world clock advances by the configured interval, the turn counter increments, all budgets and Done states reset, and a chat message announces the new turn.

If no GM is connected, a player who marks Done is told the turn cannot be recorded. State writes are GM-authoritative.

The footer shows the current turn number. The GM also gets two buttons:

  • Advance ends the turn immediately, even if some tokens are not Done.
  • Reset clears budgets, Done states, and inclusion for the scene without advancing the clock.

The action button on each card logs an action for the current turn. A per-turn action limit caps how many an owner can log. Once a token reaches the limit the button shows as maxed. The action count resets with the turn.

A keybinding undoes the last move leg of each selected owned token and refunds its budget. It is bound to Ctrl+Z by default and rebindable in Foundry’s controls settings. It only acts while budgeted movement is enabled and there is a recorded move to undo.

When Defer to combat is on and a combat is running, budgeting is suspended and the panel shows a paused overlay. Movement is unrestricted until the combat ends. Turn this off in Settings to keep budgets active during combat.
