Troubleshooting

Spend dialog won’t open or the button is greyed out

Section titled “Spend dialog won’t open or the button is greyed out”

A few causes, roughly by frequency:

  • You don’t have a spendable Mote for this roll. The only Mote in your pool may be the one that roll just granted you. Self-rescue blocks spending it on the source roll.
  • Lock on New Roll is on and you’ve rolled again. Older cards lock out their Spend button once a newer d20 lands.
  • You don’t own the actor. Only the actor’s owner (or the GM) can Spend on their card.
  • The chat card pre-dates a page reload. Post-hoc Raise buttons rely on midi workflow data that doesn’t survive a reload. Re-roll the action or have the GM grant a Mote directly.
  • midi-qol is on an incompatible version. Confirm midi-qol matches the dnd5e version in Requirements.

Tenacity didn’t refund after a failed raise

Section titled “Tenacity didn’t refund after a failed raise”

Three conditions must all hold for the auto-refund to fire:

  • The Refund on Tenacity Failure toggle is enabled. If it is off, no refund fires regardless of the percentage.
  • The DC or AC was known when you spent. If the dialog showed a placeholder for the threshold, there was nothing to compare against. See DC Reveal for revealing a DC after the fact.
  • Failed Tenacity Refund % is above 0. See Refunds and Failed Raises.

Tidy5e Classic isn’t supported. Switch to Quadrone, or use the core dnd5e sheet. See Tidy5e Sheet.

Sibling rows on the same consolidated card may show pre-bump totals until the card refreshes. The underlying flag is correct, only the DOM lags. Active Tiles triggers that listen on monks-tokenbar.updateRoll also keep the pre-bump outcome, since that hook isn’t re-fired after a row bump.

Section titled “flash-rolls-5e group footer doesn’t update”

Non-default group modes (Simple Average, Leader-with-Help, Weakest Link) have partial coverage. After a row bump, the group footer reverts to the Standard Rule shape until the next row roll. See flash-rolls-5e.

midi-qol post-hoc cleave isn’t flipping all targets

Section titled “midi-qol post-hoc cleave isn’t flipping all targets”

Multi-target cleave on a post-hoc attack flip isn’t fully covered. Single-target attack flips work, but multi-target hasn’t been live-verified. See midi-qol.

Premium-module bug reports go in the #support channel on the 3deathsaves Discord. Include your dnd5e version, Foundry version, and the integration modules you’re running (midi-qol, monks-tokenbar, flash-rolls-5e, tidy5e-sheet).
