Pair Rolloff
Pair mode runs when exactly two combatants share the same initiative value. Both players get a dialog and roll against each other to decide the order. For groups of three or more, see Bracket Rolloff instead. For how the tie was found, see Tie Detection.
What players see
Section titled “What players see”Each player gets an Initiative Rolloff window with the versus-style banner Initiative Showdown! at the top. The dialog shows their own combatant on one side and the Opponent on the other, with portraits and names for both. Below the matchup is the instruction line Roll {die} to break the initiative tie, filled in with whichever die the GM has set for rolloffs.
A bare countdown number ticks down from the configured timeout, shown beneath the VS divider between the two combatants. The Roll Dice button waits for input. As soon as one player rolls, the other player’s dialog updates with the opposing total.
How the roll resolves
Section titled “How the roll resolves”Both rolls are compared once they are in. The higher total wins the rolloff and is bumped above their opponent on the initiative tracker.
If both players roll the same number on the tiebreaker die, the matchup is not resolved yet. A notification appears reading The rolloff resulted in another tie! Rolling again…, and a fresh rolloff opens for both players. This repeats until one side rolls higher.
Winner announcement
Section titled “Winner announcement”When the Show Winner Announcements setting is on, every active player gets a popup titled Rolloff Winner! with the matching header and an Awesome! button. The popup dismisses itself shortly after appearing. The toggle for this popup is in Settings.
AFK / timeout handling
Section titled “AFK / timeout handling”If a player does not press Roll Dice before the countdown reaches zero, Rollies rolls for them automatically using the same die. The result goes through normally and the matchup resolves as if the player had rolled in time.
Auto-rolled results are tagged in the chat log with the auto-rolled marker next to the total. The countdown duration is set in Settings.
