MiniCal
A small month-view calendar with time controls, day indicators, and a notes panel.
Display
Section titled “Display”A grid of weeks with the current date highlighted. When the calendar uses a week cycle, weekdays that a cycle row skips render as empty cells.
Indicators
Section titled “Indicators”Below the navigation row:
- Weather - Current weather. Click to open the weather picker. With no weather set, a cloud icon stands in its place. Both need the Change Weather permission, and the cloud icon appears only on a calendar that defines weather zones.
- Season - Current season with icon and name.
- Era - Current era. Shown when the calendar has eras.
- Cycle - Current cycle values. Shown when the calendar has cycles configured.
Each block can be hidden or switched to a shorter display from the settings. Hiding the weather block also strips the per-day weather icons from the grid.
Navigation
Section titled “Navigation”- Arrow buttons - Previous and next month, or week for monthless calendars.
- Today button - Return to the current date.
- Click a day to select it, and click it again to deselect.
- Click a grayed-out day to move to that month.
- Backward navigation stops at year 1 on a calendar that disallows negative years.
Monthless calendars
Section titled “Monthless calendars”Calendars without months get a three-week view: previous week, current week, next week. Navigation moves by week, and the header reads “Week X, Year”.
Day cells
Section titled “Day cells”Each day cell may show:
- Note count badge. Colored badge counting the non-festival notes on that day. The badge takes its background from the first non-festival note’s own color.
- Festival highlight
- Moon phase icon
- Weather icon
- Today indicator
- Selected indicator
Day tooltips
Section titled “Day tooltips”Hovering a day cell shows:
- Full date with era.
- Day name when the date has one.
- Festival name and description.
- Current season name.
- Sunrise and sunset times.
- Weather summary.
- Names of notes on that day.
Day context menu
Section titled “Day context menu”Right-click a day cell for a menu covering that day:
- Add Note - Create a note on that day.
- Set Current Date - GM only, and omitted on the current day.
- Reveal to Here - GM only, and shown only while fog of war is on.
- Open Chronicle - Open the Chronicle.
- The day’s notes, listed alphabetically. Owners get edit and delete icons on each row, and deleting asks for confirmation. When the day holds more notes than the menu shows, a +N more item opens the Note Viewer on that date.
Right-clicking anywhere else in the MiniCal opens the container menu instead.
Sidebar
Section titled “Sidebar”Four button groups separated by dividers. The sidebar appears on hover over the calendar area, or stays visible when sticky.
- Close - Close the MiniCal.
- Open BigCal - Open BigCal. Hidden from users without the View BigCal permission.
- Today - Return to the current date.
- Set Current Date (thumbtack icon) - Set world time to the selected date. Always visible, and disabled unless a GM has a date selected that is not already the current date. Shows a confirmation dialog when that setting is enabled.
- Add Note - Create a note on the selected or current date.
- Open Note Viewer - Open the Note Viewer. Hidden from users without the View Note Viewer permission.
- View Notes - View notes on the selected date, or on today when nothing is selected. Always visible; disabled when that day has neither notes nor a festival.
- Open Chronicle - Open the Chronicle. Hidden unless enabled in the Chronicle settings.
- Settings - Open the settings panel.
Right-click the MiniCal container for a context menu:
- MiniCal Settings - Open the settings panel to the MiniCal tab.
- Show to All / Hide from All - Toggle visibility for all players (GM only). While Show to All is active, a player’s Close button and Close menu entry are refused with a notification, and only the combat auto-hide can take the MiniCal down.
- Compact Mode / Normal Mode - Toggle compact mode.
- Reset Position - Reset the MiniCal to its default screen position.
- Lock / Unlock Position - Toggle position locking.
- Open - Submenu listing BigCal, MiniCal, HUD, Time Keeper, Stop Watch, Sun Dial, and Chronicle. Entries the user lacks view permission for are omitted.
- Close - Close the MiniCal.
Notes panel
Section titled “Notes panel”To see all notes for the selected date, click View Notes. With Auto-Open Notes Panel enabled in the settings, the panel also opens by itself when you select a day that has notes, and when the MiniCal opens on a current date that has notes. The sidebar stays pinned while the panel is open.
- Notes sort by time. Festivals appear first, then all-day notes, then timed notes in ascending order.
- Click a note to open it in view mode.
- Owners click the edit icon to open it in edit mode.
- Hidden notes carry an eye-slash icon, and secret notes carry a lock icon. Visible notes show no indicator.
- Festival notes take a left border accent, colored by the note’s own color.
- Each recurring note shows a badge summarizing when it repeats.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”A preset filter dropdown narrows the displayed notes. It opens on All Presets, and offers Festivals plus every configured note preset. A preset with nothing matching on that day is greyed out and cannot be picked. While a filter is active, an X button beside the dropdown clears it.
When filters exclude every result, a “No matching notes” empty state appears. Filters clear when the notes panel closes.
Tooltips
Section titled “Tooltips”Hovering a note panel item shows a tooltip with the note’s name, time, visibility, presets, condition summary, and description preview.
Time display
Section titled “Time display”Shows the current time. For a user with the Change Date/Time permission:
- Click to toggle time flow.
- Shift-click to lock or unlock the clock. See HUD: Clock Lock.
- Hover to reveal the time controls.
Time controls
Section titled “Time controls”The controls render only for users with the Change Date/Time permission. Everyone else sees the time as static text.

Each custom jump button shows its amount and is hidden when that amount is blank. Amounts are stored per increment unit, so changing the increment selector swaps which jumps are offered. Configure the amounts in the settings.
Switching to BigCal
Section titled “Switching to BigCal”To close the MiniCal and open BigCal, double-click the calendar area. A double-click that lands on a button, link, input, select, or note badge is ignored. Double-click does nothing for a user without the View BigCal permission.
Compact mode
Section titled “Compact mode”To toggle compact mode, use the context menu or the per-user Compact Mode setting.
- Day cells render as circles.
- Weekday headers and the time display are hidden.
- Time controls keep only the increment selector and the custom jump buttons.
- Indicators display as icon-only.
- Note count badges render as dots without a number.
- Day cells omit weather icons.
- The sidebar fades in with hidden separators.
- The notes panel hides its header, its filter bar, and the author, and takes a reduced width. Filter the notes from normal mode instead.
Hovering the title group brings up a play/pause overlay, and the time controls appear when you hover the day grid.
In compact mode the header text comes from the Compact Mode Header display format, under the MiniCal category.
