MiniCal
A small month-view calendar widget with time controls.
Display
Section titled “Display”Monthly grid with the current date highlighted. For monthless calendars (like Traveller), shows a 3-week view instead.
Indicators
Section titled “Indicators”Below the navigation row, contextual indicators appear:
- Weather - Current weather with icon, label, and temperature. Click to open the weather picker. Shows “click to generate” when no weather is set.
- Season - Current season with icon and name.
- Era - Current era. Shown when the calendar has eras.
- Cycle - Current cycle values. Shown when the calendar has cycles configured.
Navigation
Section titled “Navigation”- Arrow buttons - Previous and next month, or week for monthless calendars.
- Today button - Return to the current date.
- Click a day to select it.
- Click a grayed-out day to move to that month.
Monthless calendars
Section titled “Monthless calendars”For calendars without months (like Traveller), shows a 3-week view:
- Previous week, current week, and next week.
- Navigation moves by week instead of month.
- The header displays “Week X, Year”.
Day cells
Section titled “Day cells”Each day cell may show:
- Note count badge. Colored badge showing the number of notes on that day. The badge background uses the first non-festival note’s own color.
- Festival highlight
- Moon phase icon
- Weather icon
- Today indicator
- Selected indicator
Day tooltips
Section titled “Day tooltips”Hovering over a day cell shows:
- Full date with era.
- Festival name and description.
- Current season name.
- Sunrise and sunset times.
- Weather summary.
Sidebar
Section titled “Sidebar”Four button groups separated by visual dividers: navigation, date management, notes, and system.
Appears on hover over the calendar area (or always visible when sticky):
- Close - Close the MiniCal.
- Open BigCal - Open BigCal.
- Today - Return to the current date.
- Set Current Date (thumbtack icon) - Set world time to the selected date (GM only). Always visible; disabled when no date is selected. Shows a confirmation dialog.
- Add Note - Create a note on the selected or current date.
- Open Note Viewer - Open the Note Viewer.
- View Notes - View notes on the selected date. Always visible; disabled when the selected day has no notes.
- Settings - Open the settings panel.
Right-click the MiniCal container for a context menu:
- MiniCal Settings - Open the settings panel to the MiniCal tab.
- Show to All / Hide from All - Toggle visibility for all players (GM only).
- Compact Mode / Normal Mode - Toggle compact mode.
- Reset Position - Reset the MiniCal to its default screen position.
- Lock / Unlock Position - Toggle position locking.
- Open - Submenu listing BigCal, MiniCal, HUD, Time Keeper, Stopwatch, Sun Dial, and Chronicle.
- Close - Close the MiniCal.
Notes panel
Section titled “Notes panel”Click “View Notes” to see all notes for the selected date:
- Notes sort by time. Festivals appear first, then remaining notes by display priority.
- Click a note to open it in view mode.
- Owners click the edit icon to open it in edit mode.
Visibility indicators
Section titled “Visibility indicators”Visibility status shows as icon overlays:
- Eye-slash icon for hidden notes.
- Lock icon for secret notes.
- Visible notes show no additional indicator.
Festival notes
Section titled “Festival notes”Festival notes have a left border accent in the notes panel, colored by the note’s own color.
Occurrence badges
Section titled “Occurrence badges”Each recurring note shows an occurrence badge for its repeat type.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”A preset filter dropdown narrows the displayed notes:
- Festivals. Show only festival notes.
- Additional filter presets as configured.
When filters exclude every result, a “No matching notes” empty state appears. Filters clear when the notes panel closes.
Tooltips
Section titled “Tooltips”Hovering a note panel item shows a tooltip with the note’s name, time, visibility, presets, condition summary, and description preview.
Time display
Section titled “Time display”Shows the current time. As GM:
- Click to toggle time flow.
- Shift-click to lock or unlock the clock. See HUD: Clock Lock.
- Hover to reveal the time controls.
Time controls (GM only)
Section titled “Time controls (GM only)”Revealed on hover over the time display:

Custom time jump buttons show their configured jump amount. Configure them in Settings > MiniCal > Custom Time Jumps.
Double-click behavior
Section titled “Double-click behavior”Double-click anywhere in the calendar area to toggle between MiniCal and BigCal. This works on any non-interactive area; buttons, inputs, and note badges are excluded.
Block visibility
Section titled “Block visibility”Configure which information blocks appear below the navigation row via Settings > MiniCal:

Compact mode
Section titled “Compact mode”Compact mode (“MicroCal”) shrinks the MiniCal’s footprint. Toggle it from the context menu or the “Compact Mode” per-user setting.
Layout
Section titled “Layout”- Day cells render as circular cells.
- Weekday headers and time controls are hidden.
- Indicators display as icon-only.
- The entire application becomes draggable, not the header alone.
Hover controls
Section titled “Hover controls”Play/pause overlay appears on hover over the title group.
Compact sidebar
Section titled “Compact sidebar”Sidebar fades in with hidden separators.
Compact notes panel
Section titled “Compact notes panel”Notes panel hides the header and author, and has a reduced width.
Compact mode header
Section titled “Compact mode header”In compact mode, the header text comes from the “Compact Mode Header” Display Formats location. Configure it under Display Formats in the MiniCal category, date context.
