MiniCal

A small month-view calendar widget with time controls.

Monthly grid with the current date highlighted. For monthless calendars (like Traveller), shows a 3-week view instead.

Below the navigation row, contextual indicators appear:

  • Weather - Current weather with icon, label, and temperature. Click to open the weather picker. Shows “click to generate” when no weather is set.
  • Season - Current season with icon and name.
  • Era - Current era. Shown when the calendar has eras.
  • Cycle - Current cycle values. Shown when the calendar has cycles configured.
  • Arrow buttons - Previous and next month, or week for monthless calendars.
  • Today button - Return to the current date.
  • Click a day to select it.
  • Click a grayed-out day to move to that month.

For calendars without months (like Traveller), shows a 3-week view:

  • Previous week, current week, and next week.
  • Navigation moves by week instead of month.
  • The header displays “Week X, Year”.

Each day cell may show:

  • Note count badge. Colored badge showing the number of notes on that day. The badge background uses the first non-festival note’s own color.
  • Festival highlight
  • Moon phase icon
  • Weather icon
  • Today indicator
  • Selected indicator

Hovering over a day cell shows:

  • Full date with era.
  • Festival name and description.
  • Current season name.
  • Sunrise and sunset times.
  • Weather summary.

Four button groups separated by visual dividers: navigation, date management, notes, and system.

Appears on hover over the calendar area (or always visible when sticky):

  • Close - Close the MiniCal.
  • Open BigCal - Open BigCal.
  • Today - Return to the current date.
  • Set Current Date (thumbtack icon) - Set world time to the selected date (GM only). Always visible; disabled when no date is selected. Shows a confirmation dialog.
  • Add Note - Create a note on the selected or current date.
  • Open Note Viewer - Open the Note Viewer.
  • View Notes - View notes on the selected date. Always visible; disabled when the selected day has no notes.
  • Settings - Open the settings panel.

Right-click the MiniCal container for a context menu:

  • MiniCal Settings - Open the settings panel to the MiniCal tab.
  • Show to All / Hide from All - Toggle visibility for all players (GM only).
  • Compact Mode / Normal Mode - Toggle compact mode.
  • Reset Position - Reset the MiniCal to its default screen position.
  • Lock / Unlock Position - Toggle position locking.
  • Open - Submenu listing BigCal, MiniCal, HUD, Time Keeper, Stopwatch, Sun Dial, and Chronicle.
  • Close - Close the MiniCal.

Click “View Notes” to see all notes for the selected date:

  • Notes sort by time. Festivals appear first, then remaining notes by display priority.
  • Click a note to open it in view mode.
  • Owners click the edit icon to open it in edit mode.

Visibility status shows as icon overlays:

  • Eye-slash icon for hidden notes.
  • Lock icon for secret notes.
  • Visible notes show no additional indicator.

Festival notes have a left border accent in the notes panel, colored by the note’s own color.

Each recurring note shows an occurrence badge for its repeat type.

A preset filter dropdown narrows the displayed notes:

  • Festivals. Show only festival notes.
  • Additional filter presets as configured.

When filters exclude every result, a “No matching notes” empty state appears. Filters clear when the notes panel closes.

Hovering a note panel item shows a tooltip with the note’s name, time, visibility, presets, condition summary, and description preview.

Shows the current time. As GM:

  • Click to toggle time flow.
  • Shift-click to lock or unlock the clock. See HUD: Clock Lock.
  • Hover to reveal the time controls.

Custom time jump buttons show their configured jump amount. Configure them in Settings > MiniCal > Custom Time Jumps.

Double-click anywhere in the calendar area to toggle between MiniCal and BigCal. This works on any non-interactive area; buttons, inputs, and note badges are excluded.

Configure which information blocks appear below the navigation row via Settings > MiniCal:

Compact mode (“MicroCal”) shrinks the MiniCal’s footprint. Toggle it from the context menu or the “Compact Mode” per-user setting.

  • Day cells render as circular cells.
  • Weekday headers and time controls are hidden.
  • Indicators display as icon-only.
  • The entire application becomes draggable, not the header alone.

Play/pause overlay appears on hover over the title group.

Sidebar fades in with hidden separators.

Notes panel hides the header and author, and has a reduced width.

In compact mode, the header text comes from the “Compact Mode Header” Display Formats location. Configure it under Display Formats in the MiniCal category, date context.
