GM Tools
Rollies gives GMs two modes for handling detected ties. Auto-trigger starts rolloffs the moment a tie is found. Manual approval opens a notification dialog so the GM can review the ties first.
Auto-trigger mode (default)
Section titled “Auto-trigger mode (default)”When Auto-trigger Rolloffs is on, Rollies starts rolloffs as soon as ties are detected. Players receive their roll dialogs, results post to chat, and initiative updates when the rolloff completes. The GM sees every roll in chat but is not prompted to confirm anything.
See Tie Detection for how ties are identified.
Manual approval mode
Section titled “Manual approval mode”When Auto-trigger Rolloffs is off, the GM sees a notification dialog titled Initiative Ties Detected. The dialog lists each tie group with the combatant names and the tied initiative value, and offers two buttons:
- Start Rolloffs begins the rolloffs for all listed groups.
- Keep Current Initiative closes the dialog and leaves the ties in place.
Use this mode when you want to inspect what tied before anything happens at the table.
Chat integration
Section titled “Chat integration”All rolls appear in chat attributed to the player who owns the combatant, tagged with the rolloff label. When a player runs out of time and the timer fires for them, the chat entry is also marked auto-rolled so the table knows the result came from the timeout, not the player.
If a rolloff ends in another tie, Rollies shows a UI notification and re-runs the rolloff with the still-tied participants. It is not posted to chat.
Settings GMs care about
Section titled “Settings GMs care about”The following settings on the Settings page drive GM-facing behavior:
- Auto-trigger Rolloffs picks between the two modes above.
- Rolloff Die Type sets which die players roll.
- Include NPCs in Rolloffs decides whether NPC combatants participate alongside player characters.
- Rolloff Timeout sets how long a player has before the timer auto-rolls for them.
- Show Winner Announcements toggles the popup announcing a rolloff winner, shown to every active user.
- Manual Dice Timeout Multiplier extends the timeout when manual or interactive dice are detected.
