Mini Player
The mini player is a small bar that reports the track currently playing. When playback stops, your copy stays on screen and reads Nothing playing, while a player’s copy closes.
Opening and hiding
Section titled “Opening and hiding”Open the now playing bar on load decides whether the bar is on screen when you join the world. It is a per-client setting, so each person at the table chooses for themselves. Turn it off to start every session without the bar.
Press Alt+N to show or hide the bar at any point. The binding is listed in Controls Configuration as Toggle now playing bar and can be rebound there.
Hiding the bar lasts for the session. The next world load puts it back, unless you turned the load setting off.
What the bar shows
Section titled “What the bar shows”The left end is the cover art set on the playing track’s playlist. A playlist with no art shows an animated equaliser instead, over the playlist’s colour when one is set.
Next to the art sits the track name, the playlist name, and the track’s artist. When the track also carries a source URL, the artist name is a link that opens in a new tab.
Transport and seeking
Section titled “Transport and seeking”While a track is playing, a GM gets four buttons: Previous track, Pause (which becomes Resume while paused), Stop all, and Next track. Stop all stops every playing playlist, not only the one you are listening to. A player gets none of them, because playback is driven by the active GM.
Each of those four buttons can also be bound to a key under Controls Configuration, so you can drive playback without the bar in front of you. None of them ships with a default key.
The progress bar next to the buttons is draggable for a GM. Press anywhere on it, or drag along it, to move the playhead. The new position applies on every connected client. A player’s progress bar has no handle and only reports position.
To the right of the progress bar is the time readout. Clicking it cycles through four formats: elapsed time, elapsed time over total, percentage complete, and time remaining. Your choice is stored per client and survives a reload.
Volume and mute
Section titled “Volume and mute”The speaker button toggles Mute all audio on your client. It silences all three of Foundry’s audio channels, not just music, and it stays in sync with the mute button on the console transport.
Hovering the speaker button opens a vertical volume slider. It sets the music channel volume for that listener alone and changes nothing for anyone else.
Docking
Section titled “Docking”Drag the grip handle at the end of the bar to move it. Release it near an edge and it docks against that edge, with the handle moving to the side that faces the edge. Both the edge it docked to and how far along that edge it sits are remembered per client.
Release it clear of every edge and the bar hides instead. The Hide button in the corner does the same thing.
Hovering the bar reveals two more buttons in its top corner. The Minstrel icon opens and closes the console, and the Hide cross dismisses the bar.
Minimising
Section titled “Minimising”After a few seconds with the pointer away from it, the bar shrinks down to just the cover art. Moving the pointer back over it expands it again.
